The interior alone of the oldest German pub in Darmstadt (since 1795) makes a gem out of this restaurant, which already has a long history. In 1580 the "Bockshaut" was founded as a tannery. In 1795 it was transformed into a wine tavern and restaurant, and the sign of the guild, i.e. the skin of a he-goat("Bockshaut"), was chosen as the name for this tavern. Today you can enjoy Hessian tradition in the stylish restaurant, in various banquet rooms or, when the weather is fine, on the cosy terraceunder a vine bower.

We can offer you 4 different rooms (suitable for 10 - 150 persons) and customized arrangements for your conferences. Our technical equipment includes: overhead projector, screen, flipchart, TV and video, slide projector and video camera. We can arrange your private parties according to your specific wishes. You may dine à la carte, or we serve a complete menu or prepare a delicious buffet. We will be only too pleased to advise you!

Ruoka & juoma

Original Hessian specialities, fish and vegetarian as well as changing seasonal dishes provide an excellent supplement to the good plain German cooking, which we also offer. We recommend that you take a look at the excerpt of our menu "Original Hessian dishes". Owing to its special atmosphere the historic restaurant is very popular and well-known, even far beyond the town boundaries. In addition to the restaurant we can offer you 4 function rooms, which can comfortably accomodate 10 to 150 persons. These rooms can be used for meetings and conferences, but we can also arrange your private partys according to your specific wishes. Enjoy the cosy and peaceful atmosphere under the vine bower of our beer garden.
